Knowledge in the Landscape
Botanical knowledge = personal wellbeing for humans and conservation for plants.
There is a lot of information about plants out there but most people living in urban environments don't have access to that information. These days, botanical knowledge is locked away in books or relegated to labs and class rooms. My signs are an attempt to place the voices of those teachers back in the field, reunite them with the living plants they describe. It is my belief that being able to recognise and have at least a bit of knowledge of the flora in our midsts not only improves our own sense of security and wellbeing, but is beneficial for the plant as well. After all, as many have said, you will only fight to protect what you love.
